Learn by doing
Explore AI, build your own projects, and see what happens when you change the rules.
LAB 01 / ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Teach a computer to read movie reviews.
Read examples, turn words into numbers, train a classifier, and change one setting at a time. The beginner notebook continues in Google Colab, with optional TikTok and photo activities.
The interactive exercises need no account. Your text and uploaded images stay in your browser.

Watch a brain learn to play.
A Mario-style platformer and a Pac-Man-style maze, playing live beside their neural networks. See real neuron activations, follow the rewards, and change the learning settings while the games run.
No account needed. Start with random weights, or load a practiced brain to compare.

Build an algorithm that sees your picture.
Build visual k-means in Google Colab: turn an image into pixels, assign groups, update centers, and inspect each step. Then select a cluster and use a pretrained detector to recognize objects within its regions.
A guided Python notebook with your own image upload, a visual iteration viewer, and real object recognition. Use a normal CPU Colab runtime; no API key needed. Clustering discovers groups; the separate pretrained model proposes object names.

Language models and building with AI
These lessons cover next-token prediction, attention, chat roles, LLM harnesses, and expert routing. Assignments include a terminal harness, game-board analysis, and an NBA draft example. Lesson 7 follows how a response grows, and Lesson 8 explores sparse expert networks. Lesson 9 introduces vibe coding and guides you through planning and building your first app. A separate viewer shows actual pretrained model calculations.
The lessons include interactive examples and assignments in your VCC workspace.
